Uk wide company has a vacancy for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. Specialises in the repair, rehabilitation and refurbishment of reinforced concrete structures and buildings. 

Reporting to the Regional Manager/Contracts Management.

Experience in quantity surveying is required, and knowledge of NEC form of contract is desired, but not essential.

The successful candidate will be required to travel to sites within the West Midlands and Birmingham area. A company car or car allowance will be provided.

Main Duties:

  • Assist with Company quantity surveying functions
  • Use of all Standard Forms of Contract including NEC, JCT, ICE, & ECC
  • Contract programming and planning
  • Compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality Assurance Procedures (SHEQ Management System)
  • Assist with the production and negotiation of Interim and Final Accounts
  • Build up rates and price variations
  • Offer advice and suggestions to Contract Management Team
  • Produce monthly contract appraisals
  • Negotiate and place orders and manage sub-contract accounts
  • Produce sub contract payment certificates
  • Help formulate and negotiate claims
  • Represent company at meetings
  • Day to day financial monitoring and budgeting of contracts
  • Liaison with clients and main contractors
  • Use of computer system to produce data/reports/measures etc
  • Produce cash flow forecasts
  • Any other duties as reasonably required
